Day 22

Read Luke 15:11-32

In the Prodigal Son story, like the other parables of Luke 15, what was lost is found. But the Father not only celebrates the son’s return, He exclaims, “For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found” (v. 24).

Reflection: In our rebellion against God we were not only lost but dead in sin. What does this say about what God has done to bring us back?

Prayer Point: Praise the Father that even though we were once lost and dead that through Christ we’ve been found and made alive in him.

Families/Kids: Read The Jesus Storybook Bible: Running Away

Reflection: What did the boy think his dad would say when he came home? What did his dad actually do?

Prayer Point: Thank God that we can never run so far away from Him that He won’t open His arms and welcome us back.
